GLASS-LINED HEAT EXCHANGERS
Glass-lined heat exchangers areused mainly for processes involving highly corrosive products. However, because of the surface properties of glass lining, they are particularly efficient also for products that tend to stick to or encrust the walls of a vessel. Since adherence is prevented or, at any rate, cleaning facilitated, almost constant heat transfer is assured. GEO HEAT EXCHANGERS This type is used for heat transfer processes involving a change of phase (condensing or evaporation). The most frequent application is as a reflux condenser connected to a glass-lined reactor in a batch process.
CONSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES The GEO heat exchangers are made up of four concentric shells with three interspaces. In the central space, with glasslined surfaces, flows the process product and in the outer spaces the heating or cooling fluid.
